A fantastic family based in the heart of St John’s Wood are seeking a proactive, well-mannered, and experienced Nanny or Governess to care for their two boys aged 6 and 7 years, both attending the American School in London, and their 4-year old daughter, who will be joining the school in April.
Both parents work full-time, with some travel, so this is a sole-charge, live-out position for someone confident with gentle authority, excellent manners, and a strong ability to instil boundaries and guide respectful behaviour. The family are looking for a candidate who brings a balance of warmth and structure – someone who can manage after-school routines, engage the boys in meaningful, educational activities, and support their development in a calm, consistent manner.
The family travel occasionally and would welcome someone open to accompanying them on trips, though this is not a requirement. Proxy parenting may be needed from time to time, so someone trustworthy and dependable is essential.
The family previously had a combined Nanny/Housekeeper but are now bringing in a separate Housekeeper each morning, so this role is focused entirely on the care, guidance, and development of the children.

They are looking for someone with:
• Strong organisational skills
• A firm but fair approach
• A focus on manners and respectful behaviour
• Experience with school-age children
• Comfort around dogs – the family have a friendly black Labrador

Ideal candidate profile:
• Professional, emotionally intelligent and discreet
• Clear communicator with a tidy, responsible approach
• Familiarity with the American schooling system is a plus
• Able to build strong, respectful bonds with the children
• Fluent English speaker

Start date: ASAP
Schedule: Monday–Friday, approx. 11am/12pm – 7:30pm (family are very flexible with hours so long as finish time is not before 7pm) – approx. 40 hours per week but can adjust to suit candidate.
Salary: Minimum £45,000 gross per annum and negotiable depending on experience
Accommodation: Live-out
Travel: Occasional travel with the family is a nice bonus but not essential
