The Role
A warm, established family based in Fulham is looking for a live-in nanny-housekeeper to become a genuine part of their household. The role is primarily centred around their youngest son, but is structured more broadly to support the smooth, organised running of the family home.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys real ownership of a household — combining hands-on childcare with the day-to-day organisation and upkeep of a busy family home. The family is looking for someone reliable, proactive and warm, who takes genuine pride in running a home well.
The Children:
• Eldest son (12) — Year 7 at School, travels independently by school bus, very self-sufficient
• Middle son (10) — attends school in Battersea, may occasionally require commuting support
• Youngest son (2) — starting nursery full-time from September (9am–5pm); the main focus of the role outside these hours and during school holidays
The family speaks English at home, though French is sometimes used directly with the children. French language ability is a bonus but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Childcare:
• Nursery drop-off and pick-up for the youngest
• Full-time care during nursery holidays, with age-appropriate activities and developmental support
• General oversight and support for the older two boys as needed
Household Management:
During school and nursery hours, the focus shifts to maintaining and organising the household. The family already has a cleaner attending twice weekly for full-day sessions, so heavy cleaning is not required — the emphasis is on keeping the home consistently well-run and organised.
• Day-to-day household organisation and upkeep
• Running errands — groceries, fresh food and general supplies
• Meal preparation for the family, aiming for shared family meals with occasional adjustments for the toddler
• Laundry, ironing and wardrobe organisation
• Keeping children’s bedrooms and communal areas tidy and well organised
• Light daily housekeeping duties
• General household logistics and preparation, including travel preparation when needed
Hours, Travel & Holiday:
• Working hours: 7am–7pm, five days per week, with a one-hour break
• Two babysitting evenings per week, often including a Friday
• The family also has a home in France and would expect the nanny-housekeeper to travel with them during school holidays, with separate accommodation provided
• 21 days’ statutory holiday, though in practice the family typically offers more — around one week at Christmas, one week in February, approximately three weeks in summer, and potentially one week at Easter
The Ideal Candidate:
• Fluent in English
• Energetic, reliable and genuinely hands-on
• Strong organisational skills with real attention to detail
• Proactive in maintaining a smoothly run household day-to-day
• Warm and caring with children across a wide age range
• Ideally a confident driver
• Comfortable being flexible and pragmatic around occasional schedule changes
• Happy to travel with the family during school holidays
